The road to a data breach is paved with good intentions

Flight Centre released personal data of nearly 7,000 people without their consent. The data was meant to be used to create innovative solutions for travel agencies. The decision was made by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OIC) The OIC found that Flight Centre had not taken reasonable steps to ensure that the data was not released without the consent of the people it was intended to be shared with third-party providers. The agency was contacted by the OIC to find out why the data had been released.”]
