The Necurs botnet is evolving, now includes a DDoS module

The Necurs botnet is evolving and recently the experts at BitSights Anubis Labs discovered that it was improved to launch DDoS attacks. The malware was modified in September to include a module that implements DDoS capabilities and new proxy command-and-control communication features. The researchers have no proof that the threat actors in the wild have used Necurs Botnet in. DDoS attack could be very dangerous because could generate a huge volume of traffic. On October 2015, an international joint effort of law enforcement agencies destroyed the botnet, but it resurrected after and was used to mainly spread the Locky ransomware.”]
