The future history of medical device cybersecurity

The big cybersecurity revelation of 2021: Ransomware is big business, and it is run like a big business. The days of a disaffected teenager handcrafting ‘agents of encryption’ are long gone. The industry has 10 to 15 million connected devices (in the US alone), has deep financial pockets, cannot have these devices unavailable for use, and cannot easily restore the essential performance of these devices if they are corrupted? The answer is: Everything I just described described are the sheer number that, to all, described are medical devices. The sheer number of vulnerabilities in medical devices is not as difficult as discovering zero-day vulnerabilities on a PC.
