FTC is seeking ideas for a tool of some sort that would address the burgeoning IoT mess. The agency says its offering a cash prize of up to $25,000 for the best technical solution. Gartner Inc. forecasts that 6.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide in 2016, up 30 percent from 2015. In 2016, 5.5 million new things will get connected each day, and will reach 20.8 billion by 2020. Submissions will be accepted as early as March 1, 2017 and are due May 22, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.”]
