Facebook Android app is asking for superuser access to Android users. The popups started appearing last night [UTC timezone], continuing throughout the day. Facebook users reported similar superuser request prompts on May 8. Facebook confirmed the popups were caused by a coding error. A Facebook spokesperson said a small number of users were affected by a bug in the app’s anti-fraud system and it has already been fixed for the issue. The social network apologized for any confusion caused by the popup.
