Bank of the Philippine Islands had to shut down ATM withdrawals and online transactions amid rumors of getting hacked. The bank’s IT system double-posted some transactions that took place between April 27 and May 2. Customers started noticing money missing from their bank accounts on Tuesday night, June 6. BPI later dispelled any rumors of a hack and said it was a technical glitch in the bank’s system. Bank offices and branches remained opened in the Philippines and ATM withdrawals will return to normal tomorrow, June 8, the bank said.
