TeamViewer Flaw in Windows App Allows Password-Cracking

Popular remote-support software software TeamViewer has patched a high-severity flaw in its desktop app for Windows. The flaw stems from the Desktop for Windows app (CVE-2020-13699) not properly quoting its custom uniform resource identifier (URI) handlers. The issue is fixed in 8.0.258861, 9.0. The vulnerability ranks 8.8 out of 10.0 on the CVSS scale, making it high severity. The potential impact of this vulnerability is high, but the practical impact is low, says security engineer Jeffrey Hofmann.
