Symantec walks away from managed firewall and endpoint services

Symantec has downsized its Managed Security Services portfolio, ending support for the managed firewall and managed endpoint offerings. Existing customers were told of the change when it happened, and promised support until the end of their annual service period. The company says the change is part of an effort to streamline things within the company’s Information Security portfolio, but what does that mean for existing customers? J.J. Thompson, the managing director and CEO of Rook Security in Indianapolis, slammed the move, calling it a disruption.”]
