SWIFT has issued an alert to customers warning that it’s seen repeat attempts by attackers to subvert its messaging system. The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication is a Belgium-based cooperative of 3,000 organizations that maintains the SWIFT messaging platform. It has released a “mandatory” software update to all customers to help identify related signs of attack or evidence of a breach. The February Bangladesh Bank hack wasn’t the first time that the messaging platform used by banks around the world was subverted by attackers.”]
