Superfish Compromises All SSL Connections On Lenovo Gear

PC manufacturer Lenovo confirms it shipped laptops pre-loaded with Superfish adware application. Superfish is meant to serve targeted ads to Lenovo users. It does so by peeking at the images being displayed, then serving up ads similar to those images. Lenovo said it stopped pre-loading Superfish last month and has since disabled existing implementations. The more important job is deleting the Superfish certificate, and that’s something users must do manually. The damage to Lenovo’s reputation may already be done, security expert says.”]
