Spanish Police Arrest Russian Computer Programmer

Russian computer programmer arrested in Spain on U.S. international arrest warrant. Arrest relates to civil complaint aimed at disrupting Kelihos botnet, Justice Department says. Peter Severa, aka “Peter Severa,” is a notorious “spam kingpin,” according to cybercrime blogger Brian Krebs. He’s also suspected of running both the Waledac and KelihOS botnets. The Russian embassy in Madrid says the arrest is purely a civil matter, not a national security issue.”]
