Spam evolution: December 2009

The amount of spam in email traffic decreased by 2.2% compared to Novembers figure. The overall average was 82.6% for December. Nearly 73% of all the malware contained in emails was detected as Packed.Win32.Krap, FraudTools and Iksmas. PayPal and PayPal remained the most popular targets for phishers in December 2009. The number of spam attacks targeting the IRS halved in December compared to the previous month compared to previous month.”]
