Sourcefire today will unwrap a new gigabit-speed, combination network sensor appliance. The new 3D9800 is aimed at large enterprises and service providers. Sourcefire’s 3D platform handles IDS/IPS, NAC, network behavioral analysis, and vulnerability assessment. The appliance also detects attacks in IPv6 traffic as well as IP6 traffic tunneled in IPv4. Pricing has not been finalized, but Sourcefire officials say it will ship in the second half of the year.”]
