A report found that Snap employees were abusing their access to Snapchat users’ personal data. The data includes saved Snaps, location data, email addresses and phone numbers. Experts are warning that insider threats will continue to be a top challenge for privacy. The report raises questions about what type of restrictions Snap places on employee access to data and how it keeps track of that access. In fact, according to the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, privilege misuse and error by insiders account for 30 percent of breaches.
