Serious ‘GHOST’ Flaw Puts Linux at Risk

A “GHOST” vulnerability exists in the Linux gethostbyname() function that was added to glibc-2.2, which was released on Nov. 10, 2000. The bug has been designated as CVE-2015-0235. Patches are available from Ubuntu and Red Hat, the U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team says in a Jan. 27 alert. The flaw is likely widespread, given the massive number of servers that run Linux, W3s.com says.”]
