A group of Democratic senators is urging the Trump administration to impose sanctions on Russia and other governmental actors that are waging efforts to interfere with the November election. The letter comes the same week that Facebook and Twitter removed several accounts from their social media platforms created by the Internet Research Agency that were spreading disinformation. The Treasury Department had not responded to the letter, which was sent to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Thursday.
