Senate Intel Panel OK’s Info-Sharing Bill

Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act passed by 14-1 margin by Senate Intelligence Committee. Measure requires removal of personally identifiable information when sharing cyberthreat indicators. White House has yet to weigh in on the latest measure, but Sen. Dianne Feinstein suggests the legislation as amended comes closer to what the White House seeks. Measure would allow private entities to monitor their networks or those of their consenting customers for cybersecurity purposes. One senator voted against the measure, Ron Wyden of Oregon, called it a “surveillance bill by another name””]
