Mozilla has added “opportunistic encryption” to its Firefox Web browser. It provides unauthenticated encryption over HTTPS for data that otherwise would have been in the clear. The new standard removes almost all barriers to encrypting Web traffic, said Terence Spies, CTO at HP Security Voltage.
