Scammers Hosted Files on Equifax’s Australian Website

Scammers put PDFs on Equifax’s Australian website to promote pirated sports games, pirated books and pirated video streams. Security experts say the company’s mistake could have facilitated identity theft schemes by cybercriminals. The files have been removed but still show up in some Google search results. Equifax didn’t have a presence in Australia until February 2016, when it completed its biggest-ever acquisition, paying $2 billion for a credit bureau called Veda. The breach exposed 145.5 million U.S. consumers, British and Canadian consumers.”]
