Scammers hit Twitter, Facebook with free IPad spam

Scam is affecting small percentage of Facebook users, Facebook spokesman says. Scam involves phishing victims and then using information to break into accounts. Twitter users say they’ve received a message promising you a new iPad. The scam is particularly effective, because the messages appear to come from a trusted source. The messages are directed to better-gifts.net, which asks for personal information and directs users to a variety of promotional offers from legitimate companies such as Netfilx, the Doubleday Book Club, and Columbia House DVD.”]
