Samsung to Patch Fingerprint Scanner Against Silicone Case Unlock Bug

Samsung Galaxy S10 phones can unlock the device when scanning unregistered fingerprints through a silicone case. Samsung has announced that a software patch will become available next week. The problem stems from the scanner erroneously unlocking the devices after recognizing 3D patterns in certain silicone cases covering the screen. Until the patch is applied, the company advises Galaxy Note10/10+ and S10/S10+ users to stop using their front screen protective covers. A BleepingComputer reader told us that the same thing can be achieved with latex gloves.
