Free open source software Samba released fixes for its networking software to address two critical vulnerabilities that allowed attackers to change admin password or launch DoS attacks. Samba allows Windows-based file and print services to be shared via operating systems such as Windows, Linux and UNIX. The vulnerability CVE-2018-1050 enables hackers to launch denial of service attacks on external print servers. The password vulnerability was first discovered by Synopsys Defensics intelligent fuzz testing tool, according to Samba.
