Russia Blamed for COVID-19 Disinformation Campaigns

European Union’s anti-disinformation unit says it logged more than 110 cases involving COVID-19 misinformation from Jan. 22 to March 19. Russian President Vladimir Putin denies an EU report suggesting Moscow was trying to amplify the crisis abroad. Moscow has dismissed the allegations, which follow the U.S. State Department’s Global Engagement Center released a report in which it noted that “several thousand online accounts” trace back to Russian proxies. Many private-sector nation-state watchers also see signs that pro-Kremlin outlets are posting ‘yellow vest’ messages about the crisis in France.”]
