Rob Joyce will replace Anne Neuberger, who is now deputy national security advisor for the incoming Biden administration. Joyce is currently serving at the U.S. Embassy in London. Joyce has worked for the NSA since 1989 and served as a special assistant to the president and cybersecurity coordinator at the White House. The Biden administration s proposed massive $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package includes $9 billion earmarked to modernize the federal IT infrastructure to prevent cyberattacks. The good news is that there appears to be substantial support from the incoming White House for the work needed.
