Revision3 Denial Of Service Attack Traced To Anti-Piracy Company

Online media company Revision3 says it is the victim of a cyberattack launched by MediaDefender. The company fights illegal peer-to-peer distribution of media on behalf of major entertainment companies. CEO Jim Louderback blames the outage on a denial-of-service attack initiated by the company. He says the FBI is investigating, and he is critical of Media Defender’s vigilante approach to fighting copyright piracy. MediaDefenders did not return a call seeking comment. The attack may be the result of an unauthorized use of a security hole at Revision3’s servers.”]
