Revealed: How Lady Gaga helped Google keep malware off Androids

Bouncer is Google’s automated system for detecting malicious Android apps before they are made available in the Google Play store. Security researchers Charlie Miller and Jon Oberheide claim to have found multiple ways for Android apps to hide their malicious intentions. The challenge for malware authors, therefore, is to see if they can sneak their malicious apps into the store. If apps hide their intentions while they are being tested, they may be able to tell the difference between them and the real Android apps they are not malicious, such as stealing data or sending expensive SMS messages.”]
