e-Raksha (defence) Research Centre is a government-funded initiative that will encourage research in the information and cybersecurity space. The centre is expected to be operational in a month’s time. The aim of the initiative is to address the increasing cybercrime rate in India. Cybersecurity experts’ concerns have also been focused on the soaring rate of cybercrime that can result in complete chaos to critical information infrastructure of the country.
