Report Reveals TeamViewer Was Breached By Chinese Hackers In 2016

Der Spiegel: German software company behind TeamViewer was hacked in 2016. Der Spiegel says hackers with Chinese origin used Winnti trojan malware to infect users’ computers. Company says it discovered the cyber attack “in time” and took immediate action to “prevent any major damage” Der Spiegel criticized TeamViewers for not disclosing the intrusion to the public to inform its customers, many of which are using the targeted software in businesses. Company also said no evidence that customer data was stolen, or computer systems of its customers were infected.
