Report: Microsoft’s GitHub Account Gets Hacked

The Shiny Hunters hacking group said it stole 500 GB of data from Microsoft s GitHub account. The data was then posted on a hacker forum, according to multiple reports. Microsoft acquired GitHub for $7.5 billion in October 2018. Microsoft has yet to respond to a request for confirmation of the breach. The hacker group provided a screenshot to reporters at news site Hack Read that showed a list of private files from GitHub to prove their infiltration of the company’s private account, which it owns.
