Recent Windows 10 updates cause Visual Studio, WPF app crashes

Microsoft’s Visual Studio is crashing when docking or dragging windows around after installing recently released Windows 10 and Windows Server updates. The problematic Windows 10 updates are KB4598301 and K4598299, two updates with reliability improvements for the Windows.NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 released in January and February. Microsoft is working to release a fix for the issue, which is internally implemented and is being prepared for release. Users report apps built using the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) UI framework are also crashing after installing the updates.
