Ransomware Gang Leaks Metropolitan Police Data After Failed Negotiations

The Babuk gang behind the Babuk ransomware has leaked more personal files belonging to the Metropolitan Police Department. The gang said to have stolen 250GB of data, including investigation reports, disciplinary actions, and other intelligence briefings. DC Police refused to meet their demands of $4 million for the release of the stolen data. The MPD has allegedly offered $100,000 to fend off the release, with the group saying they will release all the data if they do not meet the ransom demands. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
