Pwn2Own trifecta: Hacker exploits IE8, Firefox, Safari

A security researcher named Nils (he declined to provide his full name) performed a clean drive-by download attack against the world s most widely used browser to take full control of a Sony Vaio machine running Windows 7. He also scored hits against Firefox and Safari. Researchers spotted notable code overlap between the Sunburst backdoor and a known Turla weapon. Researchers at Recorded Future report a rise in cracked Cobalt Strike and other open-source adversarial tools with easy-to-use interfaces.
