David Schuetz, a senior consultant with Intrepidus Group, pieced together enough evidence to determine that BlueToad, a Florida based technology provider for digital publishers, was at the heart of a data breach that exposed 12 million Apple unique device IDs. AntiSec claimed to have stolen more than 12 million from an FBI agent s laptop in March. The FBI quickly denied it was the source of the breach, but Schuetz was able to find the source.
