Boffins at NEC say that they have developed a biometric technology that can identify individuals by differences in their ears. The technology uses frequencies that can be heard by dolphins, dogs, and bats, but are beyond the range of human ears. Technology was developed in cooperation with Nagaoka National College of Technology. Technology will be available by the end of the year according to NEC. It is not a great solution because it is audible and can be uncomfortable for the person on the receiving end of aural examination.”]
