The ExtraTorrent portal announced it has shut down for good via a short message plastered on its homepage. The message also appears on all of the portal’s domains, such as extratorrent.cc, extra.to, and extra.one. The message does not mention a reason why the site has gone down. Before it shut down today, ExtraTorrent was the second most popular torrent site behind The Pirate Bay. The site’s content was mostly provided by two in-house movie release groups.
