Robert Gates was the former CIA chief and U.S. Secretary of Defense from 2006 to 2011. He was speaking at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Florida. Gates divided cyber threats into four areas: collection of data for national security, economic spying, cyber crime. He says the Department of Defense does a “pretty good job” defending its networks in the world. Gates: “I have wasted more taxpayer money on IT than anybody in history” in history.”]
