Researchers from Fortinet s Fortiguard Labs say they saw an explosion in ransomware activity towards the end of the fourth quarter of 2020. Researchers saw a seven-times increase in Q4 in Ransomware activity across various families from Ryuk to Egregor. The bad news is we re continuing to see the evolution of ransomware, said Derek Manky, Chief of Security Insights & Global Threat Alliances at FortiGuard Labs.
