Pizza boy turned ATM hacker stole nearly $30,000

Brian Sommer, 23, hacked into ATMs in Hervey Bay, Queensland, using information gleaned from an ATM repairmans manual. The computer buff used debit cards borrowed from his girlfriend, mother and two friends to extract the cash. Sommer escaped a two year jail sentence after pleading guilty to hacking into the hard disks of cash machines to change their settings. He was sentenced to two years in prison for the 2007-07 theft. The cash was stolen over a seven month period from two cash machines.”]
