Phishing spoofs US Federal Reserve to steal online bank accounts

Scammers have been sending out emails that impersonate the U.S. Federal Reserve and lure recipients with financial relief options through the Payment Protection Program. The attackers are spoofing a legitimate program that is widely known among Americans. Individuals can get an economic impact payment of up to $1,200, double that for married couples, and $500 per child for parents. Inky researchers say that the threat actor has put in some effort to make the whole scam look legitimate. Users should exercise caution with messages that promise economic relief during this period.
