Perl.com was stolen and now points to an IP address associated with malware campaigns. Perl programming author brian d foy tweeted that the Perl programming site was suddenly registered under another person. The site is a site owned by Tom Christiansen and has been used since 1997 to post news and articles about Perl programming language. Perl.org has set up a temporary site temporarily at http://perldotcom.org for users who wish to access the site until the domain is recovered. The IP address that the site is now hosted has a long history of being used in older malware campaigns and more recent ones.
