Payroll Processor Reveals Data Breach

Minneapolis-based payroll processor Ceridian says a hacker attacked its payroll system last December. Social Security numbers, birthdates and bank accounts may be at risk, company says. It’s the second security breach in three year at Ceridian, which posted revenues of $1.6 billion in 2009. A spokesman says the breach was reported to the FBI, but the affected customers were not notified until last week that their private information could be compromised. In 2007, the theft of financial information involved a former employee.”]
