Rep. Elijah Cummings sent a letter to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Rep. Cummings said OPM’s Cylance security tool spotted the malware five days before forensics vendor CyTech Services did. CyTech CEO Ben Cotton says he didn’t claim to be the first to discover the malware on OPM systems. OPM did not offer a direct comment on the letter documenting the new information, but instead referred to the agencys comments mentioned in Cummings letter.
