A Vancouver man has lost $500,000 (CAD) to fake romance con by a man he met on a dating site. The scam began when the victim was told he had no money to pay bribes in Malaysia. He was then persuaded to pay the money to help the scamman. Police in both Vancouver and London are investigating the scam and charges are thought to be imminent. The man, referred to only by the pseudonym Tony in the report, is thought to have been operating out of London.”]
