The Obad Android Trojan is being distributed by a botnet of mobile devices infected with the Opfake malware. This is the first time a mobile botnet has been used to distribute a mobile Trojan, a researcher at Kaspersky Lab says. The Trojan has been found mostly in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus; 83 percent of infections were seen in Russia. Attackers would also lure victims to phony versions of the Google Play market, using search engine poisoning to do so to do with the malware.
