NZ Police Tune Into Encrypted Digital Radio Network

New Zealand Police have switched to an encrypted digital radio network. The new system will be used in emergencies such as the recent Christchurch earthquake. The network is being used to help coordinate emergency response to emergencies. It is not yet clear when the network will be rolled out to other parts of the country. It will also be used to communicate with other emergency services such as police in other areas such as Auckland and the South Island, which are already using the new network from an earlier version of the system.”]
