Notorious Hacker ‘Fxmsp’ Outed After Widespread Access-Dealing

Andrey Turchin, a Kazakh national, faces hacking charges dating back to 2018. He’s accused of stealing source code and customer access from McAfee, Symantec and Trend Micro. The documents were unsealed by the Western District of Washington after Fxmsp was profiled and his real name was revealed by security firm Group-IB last month. They say he’s a member of a prolific, financially motivated cybercriminal group composed of foreign actors that hacks the computer networks of a broad array of corporate entities, educational institutions and governments.
