Norton 360 Offering Contains Controversial Cryptominer

New Norton 360 antivirus product Norton 360 has a tool that will mine cryptocurrency while users’ computers are idle. The company says the product is designed to make existing cryptomining safer. Norton Crypto is opt-in-only and must be enabled, the company says. The tool will take away 85% of what their devices mine, with Norton earning a 15% commission. Experts say it is a puzzling move and that the feature may be difficult to uninstall. Norton is conducting a life cycle analysis for Norton Crypto and expect to have the results at a later date.”]
