OPM acting director Beth Cobert testifies before Senate panel considering her confirmation as new OPM director. OPM data breach exposed the personal information of 21.5 million individuals. The deficiencies include weak IT security governance, systems operating without valid authorizations and weak technical security controls. Cobert: “Focusing on cybersecurity, protecting OPM systems and data, and providing services to individuals who were affected will remain my highest priority if confirmed” Lawmakers did not ask about a timetable for when they would be resolved.”]
