No ‘One Size Fits All’ In Data Breaches, New Verizon Report Finds

The Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) is the biggest one yet in terms of data and sources. The report shows that 75 percent of all breaches last year were the result of financially motivated cyberattacks. Financial firms were hit the most, with 37 percent of last year’s breaches, followed by retailers and restaurants. Hacktivism remained steady, but with more distributed denial-of-service attacks than “doxing” or other forms of data theft. Nearly 70 percent of organizations learn from a third party, according to the report.”]
