A recent trend in IoT botnet malware is to add exploits for multiple vulnerabilities and scan the internet for victims. Thousands of routers online are vulnerable to dated security issues. At least 3,700 of the unpatched state of the devices have been infected with malware designed to mine for cryptocurrency.
